OpenAdTalent Radio pitch finds new winners

Another student from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK has taken first place in the on-going student awards.

Third year Victoria Mower has won the latest pitch in the OpenAdTalent competition that asked students to turn radio into a companion medium.

Her winning idea ‘Get Personal’ earned her a £250 prize and helped to keep Manchester Metropolitan University top of the OpenAdTalent University League board.

George Michaelides, co-founder of Michaelides and Bednash and an OpenAdTalent judge, referred to the winning idea as: "Simple, compelling and made extremely relevant through clever media choice."

Victoria has entered several OpenAd Talent competitions in the past and is very excited to have won. She said: “I think that OpenAd is a great service especially for young creatives, providing interesting and varied briefs, and the opportunity for recognition within the industry.”

Due to graduate with a BA Hons degree in design and advertising in July, Victoria plans to pursue a career in the advertising industry. Like all of the OpenAdTalent entrants who are about to leave university, she will no longer be able to enter OpenAdTalent pitches, but will of course be able to focus her ideas on OpenAd’s client and generic pitches.

Victoria’s idea can be seen on the OpenAdTalent site at www.openad.net/openadtalent. The winners’ billboard shows the idea in full along with more of the judges’ comments.
