Bank Pitch finds more global talent

Another pitch on OpenAd.net has produced exceptional work on a global scale.

Our recent bank pitch received over 100 ideas with the best ideas coming from countries as far afield as Australia, the US and Argentina.

However we found our winner in the UK – art director Richard Pearson, who took first place and a prize of 600USD.

The pitch asked creatives to convince students that free gifts aren’t as helpful to them as advice when it comes to managing their limited funds.

The winning idea ‘We know where you're coming from’ delivered a through the line campaign that focused on an understanding relationship between students and their bank advisors.

Richard has been working in the Manchester advertising agency BJL for the past seven years, but used his own college memories to gain insight into the challenge. He said: “After reading the brief the first time I started to have ideas and knew that it would be a good thing to work on.”

He added: “One of the good things about OpenAd is that it gives you the opportunity to work on a wide range of different briefs, sometimes in areas that you wouldn’t normally get to work on.”

Jo Smith, OpenAd’s UK general manager commented: “This idea is incredibly clever and overall the quality of entries was extremely high. We’re expecting interest from a number of banks.”

Five other ideas that came in from around the world were also commended by the judging panel. Each receiving a 300 USD runner-up prize were: ‘You didn't win’ by freelancer Sofia Sarbach from Argentina; ‘Why not?’ by Victoria Mower, a student from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK; ‘Can’t get away with it’ by freelance art director Bostjan van Hemel from Australia; ‘Great advice for students’ by Sašo Petek, a student from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and ‘Poster for bank’ by Ivan Bloc from the USA.

OpenAd.net’s members can view the winning and commended ideas in the Gallery along with all other entries to this pitch.
