Setting licence fees

Licence fees can be set in several ways.

1. By the author of the idea. The author may choose to set his own price for an idea. If he does so, the price he sets is for worldwide use (anywhere/any market), for any company regardless of size or revenue, and in perpetuity.

2. By the author of the idea, using the OpenAd.net standard pricing system. OpenAd.net standard prices are calculated according to four criteria:

  • the size and power of the market in which the idea will be used
  • the size of the buyer's revenue
  • the quantity and types of elements in the idea
  • the duration of the licence (12 months or in perpetuity).

Each of these variables is a multiplying factor for the price.

3. By the buyer of the idea. Buyers can set the price at which they will potentially license ideas submitted in response to a pitch they are holding. They can set their own price for a pitch idea, or use the OpenAd.net standard pricing system. If a pitch holder does not specify this price, the price is set by the author, either himself or with the help of the OpenAd.net standard pricing system, as above.

Buyers may only set prices for ideas submitted in response to a pitch they are holding. All prices for ideas in the Gallery are set by authors.

The author receives 50% of the full licence fee amount when an idea is purchased.

Prices cannot be re-negotiated once they have been set.
