Authors may reply to a pitch or submit ideas to the Gallery only if they have accepted the Author Agreement and sent two signed copies of the Assignment to the London address of OpenAd UK Ltd.
Authors must own and control all copyright in any idea submitted to the Gallery or in response to a pitch; this includes all copyright in design and layout. All ideas submitted must be previously unpublished; an idea that has already been used in any advertising or marketing activity anywhere in the world may not be submitted to OpenAd.net.
All ideas posted on OpenAd.net are subject to a pre-selection process. Pitch responses and general entries to the Gallery may be accepted or rejected at OpenAd.net's sole discretion. Creative material may be copy-corrected and, if any substantial correction is required, sent back to the author with suggestions for revision. Pre-selection also includes ensuring that any third-party or otherwise uncleared or uncertain content is removed (e.g. photos from photostock libraries or other "suspicious" content).
Following pre-selection, the idea is then passed to the independent OpenAd.net academy, a panel of advertising and design professionals. They decide whether or not to accept the idea for display in the gallery. Their decision is based on factors such as creativity, functionality and message. Once they have reached their decision, the author receives an email informing him that his idea has been accepted for display or rejected.
OpenAd.net may choose to license any pitch reply for a period of 12 months or in perpetuity once the pitch has been closed, in accordance with the terms of the Author Agreement.
A prize may be awarded for the winning entry in a pitch competition, but there is no commitment by OpenAd.net or pitch holders to license the winning entry or any other entry.
Pitch holders have 30 days after the pitch deadline in which to purchase any of the ideas in their pitch portfolio. After this time, any ideas that remain unsold are debranded and may be transferred to the Gallery.
