How do I enter a pitch?

Creatives can pitch ideas in response to a brief using more or less the same procedure as applies to the submission of ideas to the Gallery, the main difference being that ideas entered in response to a pitch must meet the pitch holder's requirements as stated in the brief. As with all ideas submitted to OpenAd.net, you must have full copyright ownership of all the elements within your idea.

What is a creative brief?

A creative brief contains an outline of the pitch holder's requirements. This includes all the information a creative needs concerning the pitch holder's brand, product or service, the target market, the pitch deadline, the media to be used in the ideas, and any award the pitch holder wishes to offer the author of the winning idea.

Is there an evaluation process for ideas submitted in response to a pitch?

Yes, ideas must pass technical evaluation and pre-selection procedures before being transferred to the pitch holder's portfolio. Attention is focused on whether the idea meets the requirements as stated in the brief; the quality of the pitch idea is left to the pitch holder to determine.

What happens to pitch ideas that don't win?

Ideas stay in the pitch holder's portfolio for 30 days. After this time the ideas are returned to their authors for debranding (i.e. the removal of all trademarks and brandnames that may have appeared in the author's pitch reply). Once an author has debranded the idea, he may decide to submit the idea to the Gallery.

Is there always an award for the best idea for a pitch?

No, the setting of an award or prize for the winning entry is entirely at the pitch holder's discretion. However, if the pitch holder has specified in the brief that he will award a prize for the best idea, he must award that prize.
