lastminute.com needed a viral campaign quickly - and got one in just six days through OpenAd.net.
The UK-based online travel company wanted to remind shoppers to go to the site for Christmas presents.
After posting a brief on OpenAd, the company got thirty ideas from South America, the UK, India and Central Europe.
The winning concept was created by freelance British team Alan and Sandy Cinnamond and filmed by UK production house Great Guns.
The amusing viral struck just the right note with LastMinute.com's young, adventurous customer base.
The clip showed a confused grandmother receiving a sex toy for Christmas, suggesting that a holiday would have been much better received.
Sonia Sudhakar, LastMinute.com's then head of customer relation marketing, said she liked the efficiency of the online pitch process, adding: "It was good just to be able to sit down with all the ideas and go through them in one sitting. I would certainly be happy to use OpenAd.net again, it is a great place for contacts, although the client does have to think ahead to who will produce the winning idea."
